Your kitchen needs bright task lighting. Your late-night walk to the kitchen probably doesn’t.
We’re introducing Zemismart MTL3-CW, a Matter over Thread controller for compatible 12V/24V tunable-white LED strips. Adjust brightness and white colour temperature to make the same lighting work differently throughout the day.
Already using Home Assistant? Here are three automation ideas to try:
Kitchen lighting that follows your routine
Use a motion sensor and time conditions to bring up bright, cooler white lighting for morning preparation, then choose a warmer setting for the evening.
A gentler midnight trip
Set your hallway or under-cabinet strips to turn on at a low, warm setting when motion is detected after bedtime. Add a timeout so they switch off automatically.
Lighting that joins movie night
Include your strips in an HA scene that dims the room’s lighting and selects a warm white tone alongside your existing TV and curtain actions.
These are automations you can build with your own sensors, devices and HA setup.
Why MTL3-CW?
-
Matter over Thread connectivity.
-
1–100% brightness adjustment and warm-to-cool white control.
-
Support for compatible 12V/24V constant-voltage CCT strips.
-
External antenna for installations around cabinets or concealed lighting areas.
-
Rated up to 5A per channel and 20A total, within the connected strip and power supply limits.
For Home Assistant, you’ll need the Matter integration and a Thread border router. Matter provides local device control, so your lighting can become part of your existing HA routines.
The available white-temperature range depends on your LED strip; minimum brightness and dimming performance also depend on the strip and power supply.
Where would you use tunable-white lighting first—under kitchen cabinets, behind your TV, or along the hallway?
